A few inspirations

Fall is one of the most busiest times of the year. I often find myself getting used to being so busy that I forget to enjoy life. I got my restricted license this past summer and I have found myself driving without even caring about the world around me. This fall I've really tried to turn the radio down and just thank God for his creation and his beauty that he has created. No matter if its been a bad day and I'm blasting the Taylor Swift, I try to take a moment to be thankful for what is around me. God is SO good, and I tend to overlook his blessings too much. My hardships are blessings from him because I know HE will never fail me and he will always be right by my side.

If you've got a busy schedule this week...try to take some time to breathe in this season's blessings. Here are a few inspirational quotes that I have recently found. I hope they inspire you as much as they have inspired me.

With Love,

Shelby

Thoughts...

Here's a few thoughts that I thought you all might like to read! :) My favorite one would have to be the second one. We are all sinful in the eyes of God. It doesn't matter what we've done. It's all equal in his eyes. But he LOVES us! He created us knowing that we WOULD sin! But he didn't just leave us here alone! He sent his son to be blameless and pure. He died on a cross for you. And when you accept him into your life, you can live in freedom because you are forgiven of your sins! :) This quote by C.S. Lewis always reminds me that I am forgiven, therefore I should forgive others! Do you have a quote that's particularly important to you?

A Beautiful Place {Thoughts}

Some people look for beautiful places. They look for a beautiful condo on the beach or a beautiful place to visit. But some people have the ability to make a place beautiful! You're smile, and your actions can turn a ugly and sad place into a place of joy and gladness! Just think about it! You have more influence on the world than you think you do!

Beauty and Anne Frank

Anne Frank has always been one of my favorite WWII stories of all time. Her diary has been inspiring me for many years, I've read it too many times to count. Her joy that she had while living in the attic of an old building for two years inspires me and my own joy. I hope that these quotes below inspire you like they have inspired me.

Anne received the diary that has influenced millions on June 12, 1942 for her thirteenth birthday after moving to the Netherlands to escape the rule of Hitler. Less than a month later on July 5, 1942 the Franks went into hiding in the Secret Annex. They stayed there for two years.

On August 4, 1944 the Franks were arrested and taken from their hiding place. Anne and her family are sent separate ways to concentration camps. Anne, Margot (her older sister), and Mrs. van Pels were sent to the Bergen-Belson concentration camp. Anne died at that concentration camp in March of 1945.

The first copies of her Diary were printed in 1947 in Amsterdam. Today, Anne's diary can be found in 50 different languages and has sold over 25 million copies in the past 65 years.

I have always loved the quotes of C.S. Lewis. He inspires me to think about my faith and to dig deeper!   I hope that you like this quote as much as I did!

Messy Mondays: Ten Ways to Get the Right Guy to Like You

Love this video! :) hahaha. Call Of Duty Girl (1:37) is so me!

I definitely think that all girls need to see this video! :) Nice to know that there are guys willing to tell girls that they are beautiful because they dress modestly! :)

Christy Miller Series Quote

Oh Todd. :)
Phil 1:7 "I hold you in my heart".
This is the verse that Todd wrote on the coconut that he mailed to Christy from Hawaii. She didn't know where she stood in their relationship while he was off at school in Hawaii and pursuing his surfing dreams. A coconut arrived with just "Phil 1:7" written on it. When she decoded the message and read the verse, she realized that Todd hadn't forgotten her and that she was still very special to him. She also realized that's how God views her. He holds her always in His heart and she is very special to Him.

Hunger Games

After seeing the Hunger Games this past Friday, I have to say that they did an amazing job! The movie  was just like the book! I cried a lot! :) I give it 12 stars out of 10!

I've been hearing a lot of controversy about the Hunger Games and the "bad message" that it portrays about teens killing each other. But, most of the people I've been hearing this from are people who haven't even read the books or seen the movie! That's a definite no-no if you're going to be critical about something. But what may surprise you (if you haven't read the books) is that the Hunger Games is not about the Hunger Games. It's about the Capitol. The Capitol is a horrible government that forces two tributes from the ages of 12-18 from each district to fight in the annual Hunger Games to show their power. The Hunger Games (the first book), merely explains what's going on and why this Katniss girl is going to do something that no one has even done. (SPOILER ALERT- don't read the next sentence if you don't want any spoilers!) She's going to bring down the capitol... and her first step is showing the Capitol that she's not just a piece in their games. She showed them by burying Rue in flowers, and bringing out the night lock when Seneca Crane reversed the rules at the end.

If your going to have an opinion about the Hunger Games and you're going to say that its worldly and that its a horrible book series and movie... you should read the books or see the movie first. It's not two and a half hours of killing (more like 15 minutes or so if you add up all the killing scenes!) and it's not just some fad. It's a real story with real characters that you will understand and get to know. If you'll give them  a chance and lay down your opinions, these characters just might change your thoughts about the Hunger Games.
